Family Friendly Action PAC Applauds Historic Inflation Reduction Act

Following news that Sens. Chuck Schumer and Joe Manchin have reached an agreement on a reconciliation bill, the Inflation Reduction Act of 2022, Sondra Goldschein, executive director of the Family Friendly Action PAC, released the following statement:

“It’s no secret that working families have been struggling to make ends meet. The Inflation Reduction Act offers families a lifeline by lowering the costs of prescription drugs, reducing the cost of health insurance for 13 million Americans and investing in energy projects that will lower energy costs. This legislation will give hardworking families the tools they need to build a better life. We applaud this progress and call on Congress to act quickly to send this legislation to President Biden’s desk.”

“It is our hope that this legislation will set the stage for further investments in the policies working families need to thrive, including paid family and medical leave for all and quality, affordable child care. For this to be possible, we need to elect leaders who will prioritize these policies. That’s why we will spend every day from now until Election Day educating voters about where the candidates stand on issues that will lower costs and improve their lives.”

This week, the Family Friendly Action PAC announced a $23 million investment in a grassroots campaign supporting Senate candidates who are fighting for policies that will help working families, including access to affordable prescription drugs, affordable child care and paid family and medical leave.
