Families Win in Virginia: Campaign for a Family Friendly Economy PAC Celebrates Crucial Role in Democratic Legislative Victories

CFFE PAC’s $500,000 field campaign turned out voters who care about lowering costs and improving the lives of working families, as well as preventing Governor Youngkin from furthering his extremist agenda

Richmond, Va. – November 8, 2023The Campaign for a Family Friendly Economy (CFFE) PAC is celebrating Democratic control in the Virginia General Assembly, after Democrats flipped the House and held the Senate in elections on Tuesday. CFFE PAC made a historic $500,000 investment in field programs to support Delegate-elect Joshua Cole (House District 65) for the House of Delegates, Senator Monty Mason (Senate District 24), and Joel Griffin (Senate District 27).

CFFE PAC knocked more than 53,000 doors and had 2,461 conversations with voters in the Fredericksburg area, educating voters about where the candidates stand on the issues that mean the most to working families, including affordable child care, paid leave, abortion rights, and more. While we await final counts in some districts, we already know that Cole’s victory played a key role in flipping the House to Democratic control.

“Virginia voters have a crystal-clear understanding that MAGA extremists like Gov. Youngkin and his allies are focused on taking away their rights and freedoms instead of helping working families,” said Sondra Goldschein, Executive Director of the Campaign for a Family Friendly Economy PAC. “They value the importance of electing candidates who will advance policies that help hardworking Americans make ends meet and take care of their families, and made sure their voices were heard at the ballot box.”

Cole, Mason, and Griffin were endorsed by the Campaign for a Family Friendly Economy PAC and received Family Friendly Virginia’s “Family Friendly Seal of Approval” thanks to their support of family friendly economic policies including paid family and medical leave, quality, affordable child care, earned sick days and affordable long-term care.

“Virginia serves as a bellwether for 2024, and this Democratic victory is a resounding sign that voters know who has their backs and reject MAGA extremism,” added Goldschein. “As we look forward to next year’s general election, the Campaign for a Family Friendly Economy PAC is committed to continuing to engage voters, advancing policies that help working families and women, and electing Democrats.”
