The Economic Policy Institute recently released a new report that threw into sharp relief just how hard it is for working parents to afford to put their children in child care. According to the report, infant care accounts for 80% of a minimum wage worker’s budget!

For instance, if you’re a parent earning the minimum wage in New Hampshire, infant care accounts for an estimated 80% of your entire budget. Infant child care costs almost as much as college tuition at UNH and other public colleges!
It’s out of control.
Our neighbors have to know that when they’re at work, their children are safe and properly cared for. And they shouldn’t have to break the bank to do so.
